Karpasasthyadi Thailam is used as massage oil in many Ayurvedic procedures including Basti (enema), Dhara, and Nasya and also finds application as massage oil in resorts and spas. It helps to regulate the body temperature and also enhances mood. The use of the oil soothes the muscles, nerves and helps the body to relax. The oil is especially beneficial for those who are suffering from paralytic conditions of the upper body extremities and rheumatic conditions which include neuro-muscular conditions such as hemiplegia, frozen shoulder, spondylosis, paraplegia, cervical spondylitis and facial palsy. Its external application includes the massaging of the head and the body with this medicated oil. It can also be administered orally with 5 äóñ 10 mg to be taken with warm water, before food or as per the directions of an Ayurvedic doctor. Karpasasthyadi Thailam for ear treatment The Karpasasthyadi Thailam medicated oil can be used effectively for ear treatment. One teaspoon of warm Karpasasthyadi Thailam oil can be poured into one ear. After 5 äóñ 10 minutes, sit up and use a tissue to catch the extra oil. Lie on your side and allow the rest of the oil to drain out of the ear. This process is to be repeated with the other ear also. This medicated Ayurvedic oil should be used within three years from the date of its manufacture but if opened, it should be used within a year.
